Eija-Liisa Ahtila, Laugh, 2000, from the Assistant Series, 27 x 73 in. (69 x 186.5 cm) framed Born in Hameenlinna, Finland in 1959, Ahtila specilized in fotography and experimental movie making. She focuse on the construction of the image and space. After 1990 she went even more deeply into themes surrounding individual identity and the limit of the self and body in relation to the other.
